If you have found the dress of your dreams with us and become one of our Bridal House Brides then the next step will be to book in your fittings with our fabulous in-house seamstress Linda Stuart.
What to expect at your first Fitting
You need to give us a call to book in your three fittings if we do not get dates set in the diary at the time that you ordered your dress.
For your first fitting it is important to bring your actual wedding shoes as we cannot hem your dress to the correct length without them.
Please wear sensible white or tonal underwear especially if you have a very fitted, semi-opaque or sheath dress. Underwear that smooths the silhouette is preferable.
We do not recommend that you wear fake tan before your big day during your fittings.
Please come alone to your first fitting as you dont want anyone seeing your dress ideally until it is fitting you to perfection, once Linda has worked her magic.
Work into your schedule at least an hour appointment.
If you are one of our many out of County Brides then we can always book your first fitting at the start of the day and your second fitting later that day to give you time to go and have a coffee or do a little shopping around Truro whilst Linda works on your dress.
The aim is to leave the seams open to allow for any minor tweaks to the fitting to ensure that you are completely happy with the fit.
Again you will need an hour but if there is more intricate work to be done on your dress like bespoke bolleros or custom straps or detailing you may need to allow a little longer.
This is the 2nd to last stage of your Bridal House process, the aim is to pop you into your dress which should now fit to perfection and finalise any last teaks.
The last stage is to schedule your dress pick up and collection date.
We offer a Bridal & Bridesmaids dress fixed fee alterations package, where your stunning dresses will be altered on site in our “Vintage Seamstress Studio” here at the Boutique, we offer a unique experience & complete service where Linda has a custom made work station and fabulous machine to alter your dresses to perfection.
Linda is a second generation seamstress and made her first outfit at 11 years old, this was the start of her journey to becoming a great seamstress. Linda grew up helping her mother, Margret in her sewing room at her family home in Cornwall and fell in love with this creative type of work. She is highly skilled and is now very experienced in working expertly with delicate, stunning and very slippy fabrics like fine French chantilly lace, silk chiffon, dupion and crepe which is an art form in itself.
Our seamstress is a perfectionist in her art, this ensures fantastic results and using our service enables you to sleep easy knowing that we will support you not only with selecting your perfect dress..... but through the whole process until you pick your dress up a few days prior to your big day.
